Divorce settlement payouts debated on 'This Morning'

Divorce was a key topic of debate on ITV daytime chat show 'This Morning' yesterday.

Journalists Alley Einstein and Susie Boniface were welcomed onto the sofas to discuss whether it was fair that wives of millionaires were receiving such huge divorce settlements.

According to itv.com, the debate came after this year's Sunday Times 'Rich List' featured a section of the world's richest divorcees for the first time.

Einstein, who works as a freelance broadcast journalist, labelled the women on this list as "divorce divas" and refused to back the argument that they deserved such monumental payouts. She claimed that divorce should be more fair on the breadwinner. Print journalist Boniface was of the opinion that divorcees deserved to maintain the lifestyle they had become used to.

Although there was no clear winner in the debate, it certainly highlighted the fantastic work that family lawyers in the UK can do for their clients.

The compilers of this year's 'Rich List' were far from subtle when suggesting what they thought the easiest way was for women to feature in their publication.

According to yahoo.com, they said that an attractive woman's "best guarantee" of a huge income is to marry an extremely wealthy man and then divorce him a few years later.
